Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Al Jefferson scored 40 and grabbed 18 rebounds to help the Charlotte Bobcats rip the Los Angeles Lakers 110-100 Friday night at Staples Center.
He scored 16 of those points in the fourth quarter.
Gerald Henderson added 20 points and Ramon Sessions had 13 assists and nine points for the Bobcats, who shot 58 percent in the half.
Jefferson’s finger roll gave the Bobcats a 26-25 lead with 1:37 left in the first quarter and they never looked back.
They enjoyed a 20 point lead after a pair of free throws by Jefferson with 4:21 left in the third quarter.
The Lakers cut it to 86-78 on a layup by Robert Sacre with 11:01 to play, but Jefferson scored the Bobcats’ first eight points in the final quarter to keep the Lakers at bay.
