Lincoln, NE, United States (4E Sports) – The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team dismissed its third leading scorer, Deverell Biggs, for ‘lack of accountability’ over two seasons.

Since becoming head coach Tim Miles’ first signee in April 2012, he has been cited for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in December 2012, while he was redshirting.

He was later suspended in July for a violation of team rules and missed the first two games of the regular season in November.

Biggs also didn’t play Sunday against Minnesota.

“We have consistently emphasized accountability for our student-athletes on the court, off the court and in the classroom. Individual accountability affects the entire group. As a basketball program, we are moving forward and perhaps a fresh start for Deverell may be beneficial to him as well,” Miles said in a statement.

The 6-foot junior guard, averaged 9.9 points and 3.3 rebounds this season.

Biggs will still have access to all of University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s academic resources to maintain his eligibility and progress toward graduation.
