London, United Kingdom (4E) – An official of JP Morgan Chase jumped to his death from the investment bank’s European headquarters building in London on Tuesday.

The body of Gabriel Magee, 39, vice president in technology at the bank’s London offices, was found on the ninth floor roof of the 33-storey building in Canary Wharf around 8 a.m.

Witnesses in the building said the body laid on the roof, which was 500 feet from the top floor of the building, for about four hours or until midday before it was removed.

Police found nothing suspicious about the death of the American banker but the investigation continues. Co-workers are checking Magee’s workload to find clues that triggered his apparent suicide.

A source close to the victim described Magee as in good standing with his bosses and colleagues as was well-liked, according to Daily Mail.

Magee has been working with the bank since 2004 and relocated to the European office in 2007.
