Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – On Sunday at the 56th Grammy Awards, Queen Latifah has simultaneously officiated 33 marriages during the outstanding performance of Madonna, Macklemore & Lewis and Mary Lambert.

Who thought that the Grammy’s isn’t only for honoring great names in the music industry, but also for doing something more heartwarming such as officially uniting the hearts of people who wish to spend their lives together in wedded bliss?

After introducing Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to their performance, who sang their hit song “Same Love,” Latifah proceeded to officiate the vows as the audience cheered on. Mary Lambert then joined in to perform her part.

Just as the couples exchanged their wedding bands and Latifah pronounced them married, Queen of Pop Madonna emerged on stage and performed her song “Open Your Heart,” joined by Lambert toward the end.

Meanwhile, the featured couples, who the New York Times described as “gay, straight, old, young, of many colors,” include Lewis’ sister Laura and her boyfriend Alex.

Following the legendary ceremony, the cheering audience rose from their seats to give a standing ovation to the whole experience, with singer and American Idol judge Keith Urban shedding a tear and Katy Perry reportedly catching one of the bouquets.
