Crawford, Griffin fuel Clippers in subduing Ross-powered Raptors

Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Jamal Crawford had 37 points and 11 assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers over the Toronto Raptors 126-118 Saturday at Air Canada Centre.

He connected on 12 of 23 shots, including five from 3-point range.

Blake Griffin added 30 points and J.J. Redick scored 18 for the Clippers.

Terrence Ross made five 3-pointers in the first to match a Raptors record for 3-pointers in a quarter to give them a 37-36 before the second.

He made two more from beyond the arc in the second quarter, setting a team record for 3-pointers in a half.

But Crawford erupted for 15 points as the Clippers took the half at 71-65.

Ross scored 13 points in the third to tie the game at 93 heading to the fourth.

The Raptors led 107-106 on an alley-oop dunk by Valanciunas at 6:36 of the fourth.

But Redick hit two 3-pointers and two jumpers and Griffin scored on two jumpers and a layup as the Clippers outcored the Raptors 20-11 for the rest of the game.

Ross made 10 3-point field goals in a 51-point total, the second-most made 3s in a 50-point game in NBA, to lead the Raptors.

Jonas Valanciunas had 17 points and 12 rebounds, Kyle Lowry added 11 points and 12 assists as the Raptors lost for the first time in three games.

DeRozan sprained his left foot in the second quarter, but x-rays were negative.
