London, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) – Oscar scored on a free-kick in the 28th minute to carry Chelsea to a 1-0 win over Stoke City in Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round showdown at Stamford Bridge, giving manager Jose Mourinho a fitting present on his 51st birthday.

Samuel Eto’o went down under the challenge of Erik Pieters to win a free-kick 20 yards out, from which Oscar found the net with a superb curling strike that carried Chelsea to victory and a spot in the fifth round against Manchester City.

“It’s good,” Mourinho said regarding their match against Manchester City next month.

“Our aim for the season is to improve and the best way to improve is through difficult things.”

After the match, Mourinho also announced that the team signed Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah from Basel to replace Juan Mata, who is set to transfer to Manchester United.

According to reports, the 21-year-old Salah signed a five-and-a-half year deal with Chelsea. He was also heavily courted by Liverpool before he decided to join the Blues.

“I’m very happy to sign for such a big club. I hope I can make the Chelsea supporters happy,” Salah said.

Meanwhile, Fulham and Sheffield United will have a replay of their fourth-round match after settling for a 1-1 draw.

Chris Porter put Sheffield United on the board in the 31st minute but Hugo Rodallega tied the count in the 75th minute for Fulham.

The winner of the Fulham-Sheffield United match on February 4 will advance against the winner of Preston North End and Nottingham Forest.
