Chiney Ogwumike’s double-double powers Stanford over UCLA

Stanford, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Chiney Ogwumike scored 21 and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Stanford Cardinal to a 72-55 win over the UCLA Bruins Friday at Maples Pavilion.

The two-time All-American Ogwumike Ogwumike, second in the nation in field goal percentage, missed five of her first six shots as UCLA shifted between zone and man defense to slow her down.

Stanford (7-0, 18-1) still led at halftime, 36-35.

Then Ogwumike converted 5-out-of-7 in pumping in 10 points in the second half as they outscored the Bruins 36-20.

Atonye Nyingifa scored 18 and grabbed eight rebounds to lead UCLA (10-10, 4-4 Pac-12).
