Englewood, CO, United States (4E Sports) – Denver Broncos head coach John Fox sent Matt Prater home from their practice facility for a third consecutive day due to stomach virus.

Prater was told to go home in order to recover and prevent any other players from getting sick.

The kicker did not practice with the team this week but Fox feels he will be fine when they leave Sunday for New Jersey to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Prater led the NFL in touchbacks on kickoffs and was 25 of 26 on field goal attempts during the regular season.

He was 6 of 7 from 50 or more yards, that included an NFL-record 64-yarder on Dec. 8 against the Tennessee Titans.

Prater is 5 of 6 in the postseason, including a 4-for-4 performance in the AFC Championship Game this past Sunday.

Defensive tackle Sione Fua (calf) was also held out of practice for the second consecutive day Saturday.
