Floridians Not Immune from Winter Chill as Shelters Open

Tampa, FL, United States (NewsBahn) – The cold weather that has gripped the Northeast has made its way down the coast, even affecting residents of Florida.

Cold night shelters have opened in Pinellas County to provide meals and comfort for the hungry and those looking to warm up from sub-50 temperatures.

St. Petersburg dipped to 49 degrees, while Tampa dropped to 44. Clearwater checked in at 47 degrees, meanwhile, New Port Richey was a crisp 44.

Overnight lows will get into the 20′s in many areas, as well.
