Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – The Toronto Maple Leafs will play with two less forwards as they placed David Clarkson and Frazer McLaren on injured reserve.
In a newspaper report, Clarkson said he would have to miss some time to get a bursa sac in his elbow removed.
Clarkson played Sunday against the New Jersey Devils Sunday and in each of Toronto’s following two games, but he hasn’t recorded a point since Dec. 23.
In his first season with the Maple Leafs after signing a seven-year, $37 million contract, Clarkson has three goals, eight points and 51 penalty minutes in 36 games.
McLaren has played in 22 games this season, just two since Dec. 16, and is scoreless with 67 penalty minutes.
