Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are reuniting on stage during the 56th Grammy Awards night on January 26, the organizers announced Tuesday.
The former moptops will be sharing the stage as they receive the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award given to the Beatles as a band, and the two will also be performing during the said event.
Meanwhile, McCartney, 71, is nominated this year for Best Rock Song, in collaboration with Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Krist Noveselic, and Best Music Film for his concert movie “Live Kisses.”
Other stars who were announced to perform on the awards night are Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, Mackelmore & Lewis, and multi-Grammy winner and 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year Carole King.
This will be McCartney’s and Starr’s first performance together since 2009, when they sang “With a Little Help From My Friends” at the Change Begins Within benefit concert. Meanwhile, this is Starr’s first time performing in the Grammy awards telecast.
