Brooklyn, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Point guard Deron Williams will not join the Brooklyn Nets as they travel to London for the team’s showdown against the Atlanta Hawks Thursday.
Sidelined by a sprained left ankle, Williams will be missing his 16th game of the season. There is no timetable for his return.
He underwent an MRI Monday and received a cortisone shot and platelet-rich plasma injection in both of his ankles.
Alan Anderson and Shaun Livingson have been manning the Nets’ backcourt in Williams’ absence. The Nets (15-22) have won five of their last six games.
The team will practice in London on Tuesday and Wednesday for the game.
