Calgary, AB, Canada (4E Sports) – Chris Kunitz and Matt Niskanen each had a goal to lift Pittsburgh Penguins over the Calgary Flames 2-1 Saturday at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves.
The Penguins took a 1-0 lead at 16:34 of the first period on a shot from Kunitz.
They made it 2-0 at 6:42 of the second period after Niskanen’s shot squeaked through the pads of Flames goalie Reto Berra.
Mikael Backlund scored for the Flames at 11:29 of the third period by outplaying Kris Letang for the puck before executing a slap shot from 40 feet.
The Pens improved to 33-12-2, while the Flames fell to 15-24-6.
