Manchester, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) – Manchester City ripped West Ham United 6-0 in the first leg of their semi-final Wednesday at Etihad Stadium to seal their place in the Capital One Cup final.
Alvaro Negredo scored thrice, Edin Dzeko had two goals and Yaya Toure also got in on the scoring.
Negredo volleyed home Toure’s long ball over the top in one fluid movement to draw first blood.
Fourteen minutes later Negredo made it 2-0, combining with strike partner Dzeko who made a slide-rule pass that was converted to a goal.
Toure scored Manchester’s third goal by striding completely unchallenged into the box before side-footing a shot.
Negredo gave Manchester a 4-0 lead with a left-footed finish.
Then Dzeko scored in the 60th mark and the 89th minute to make it 6-0.
