Columbus, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Sophomore Amedeo Della Valle and freshman Marc Loving combined for 28 points off the bench to help No. 3 Ohio State overwhelm Nebraska, 84-53, for their 15th straight victory Saturday at Value City Arena.

Della Valle scored 15 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting from the field, including 3-for-3 from three-point range while Loving made seven of eight foul shots on top of a career-best five boards for the Buckeyes (15-0).

“I’m comfortable with my rotation. Every game poses a different scenario in terms of what we might need. It’s great to see when guys come in and can contribute,” said Buckeyes coach Thad Matta after the victory.

With Della Valle and Loving leading the way, the Ohio State bench outscored its Nebraska counterparts, 38-12, while the Buckeyes scored 17 points off of 13 Nebraska turnovers.

Shannon Scott added 13 markers, LaQuinton Ross had 11 and Amir Williams contributed 10 for the Buckeyes, who now have won 10 or more consecutive games in 13 seasons all-time.

Ohio State’s outstanding defense continued as they limited the Cornhuskers to their lowest output this season. The Buckeyes have not allowed an opponent to reach 70 points over the first 15 games this season.

The 15-game streak without an opponent scoring 70 or more points is the longest for Ohio State since a 22-game streak during the 2010-11 season from Nov. 20, 2010 to Feb. 6, 2011.

Terran Petteway scored 15 points while Leslee Smith added 11 for the Cornhuskers, who dropped to 8-6 after a third straight loss.

After leading by 10 in the first half, the Buckeyes extended their lead to 56-36, after a 12-0 run sparked by back-to-back triples by Ross.
