New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Jonas Valanciunas had 16 points and 18 rebounds and DeMar DeRozan scored 25 as the Toronto Raptors rallied to rip the New York Knicks 95-83 at Madison Square Garden.
Kyle Lowry had 15 points and 11 assists for the Raptors, who lead the Atlantic Division.
The Knicks jumped out to a strong start to take a 25-18 lead at the end of the first.
Tim Hardaway Jr.’s 3-pointer ealry in the second gave the Knicks a 10 point advantage at 30-20.
The Raptors fought back to take a 37-36 lead with 3:17 to go in the second, but the Knicks outscored the Raptors 13-3 the rest of the half.
J.R. Smith hit a 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds left in the half to give the Knicks a 49-40 lead at the break.
Another Hardaway 3-pointer gave the Knicks a 61-49 lead with 7:17 remaining in the third.
The Raptors reduced the lead to 71-66 by the end of the period and went on to outscore the Knicks 29-12 in the fourth.
John Salmons’ 3-pointer gave Toronto the lead for good with 8:07 left.
Andrea Bargnani had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Beno Udrih finished with 15 points and 10 assists. Smith had 17 points and Hardaway added 15 for the Knicks, who played without the injured Carmelo Anthony.
