Lexington, KY, United States (4E Sports) – Andrew Harrison and James Young each scored 18 points to help the No. 18 Kentucky Wildcats beat No. 6 Louisville 73-66 Saturday at Rupp Arena.
Star Julius Randle poured in 17 first-half points before being sidelined by cramps.
Louisville scored the first eight points led by Chris Smith’s two 3-pointers before Randle answered with five for Kentucky (10-3).
Randle was 7-of-8 from the field to help Kentucky get a 41-36 halftime lead.
Louisville tied the game at 43-43 as Russ Smith scored five points while Mangok Mathiang added a putback.
They grabbed the lead at 52-51 on Chris Jones’ three-point play.
But Andrew Harrison and his twin Aaron combined for 11 points and Young added a key 3-pointer in a 17-6 Kentucky run to get a 68-58 lead with four minutes left.
Kentucky outrebounded Louisville 44-36, including 17-12 offensively.
Smith scored 19 and Jones added 18 points for Louisville (11-2).
