Ann Arbor, MI, United States (4E Sports) – Freshman quarterback Shane Morris will start for Michigan when the Wolverines take on Kansas State in Saturday’s Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, coach Brady Hoke announced Thursday.

Morris will get the start as Devin Gardner remains sidelined by a turf toe injury, according to Hoke.

The freshman has appeared in only four games this season, completing 5-of-9 passes for 65 yards and accounted for one interception.

Morris, who finished his high school career as the No. 8 QB in the country, was Hoke’s first commit to Michigan after arriving from San Diego State.

Morris committed the summer after his sophomore year and quickly began recruiting other players to the Wolverines.
