Jets agree to terms with young netminder Eric Comrie

Winnipeg, MB, Canada (4E Sports) – The Winnipeg Jets announced that they have reached an agreement with young goalie Eric Comrie on a three-year, two-way entry level contract, with an average annual value of $925,000.

“A dream come true to have signed with the Jets Tuesday,” the 18-year-old Comrie said on his Twitter account. “I want to thank all my teammates, friends, family, and coaches along the way!”

A second-round pick by the Jets in the 2013 NHL Draft, Comrie is 14-13-3 with a 2.52 goals-against average and .923 save percentage for the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League.

In 98 career WHL games, all with the Americans, Comrie is 53-33-8.

Comrie is the younger brother of Mike Comrie, who played in the NHL for the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins.
