New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Brooklyn Nets’ All-Star center Brook Lopez is out for the season after he broke his surgically repaired right foot Friday night.
The 7-foot Lopez suffered the injury sometime in the second half during the Nets’ overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Friday.
He played his way through the injury, logging in 44 minutes while making 9-of-19 shots and finishing with 22 points and seven rebounds.
The injury was discovered after the game when Lopez underwent X-rays. The official diagnosis was a fractured fifth metatarsal of his right foot.
He had earlier fractured his right foot in 2011. Lopez was averaging 20.7 points and six rebounds.
