Seattle, WA, United States (4E Sports) – Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been indefinitely suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
His appeal was denied Wednesday but he could still file a process appeal that would be heard by Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Browner, 29, technically is suspended for life but can apply for reinstatement after one year.
A denial of his process appeal means he has to wait until Dec. 18, 2014 to apply for reinstatement.
He was signed by the Seahawks to a three-year contract in January 2011 after he spent four years in the Canadian Football League. He made the Pro Bowl in his first year.
Browner has served an unrelated four-game suspension for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy last year.
“I believe in my innocence and will continue to fight with all legal resources available to me to,” said Browner.
