Hartford, CT, United States (4E Sports) – Chasson Randle scored 22 points to lead the Stanford Cardinal in an upset of the 10th-ranked Connecticut Huskies 53-51 Wednesday at XL Center.
Josh Huestis added 13 points and Dwight Powell had 10 points and 15 rebounds for Stanford (8-2).
UConn led 38-28 at halftime and pushed the lead to 43-30.
Consecutive 3-pointers by Anthony Brown and Randle ignited a 14-0 Stanford blast to overtake UConn 44-43.
Randle’s jump shot with 3½ minutes left gave Stanford a 52-49 lead. UConn pulled within a point after DeAndre Daniels tipped in a missed 3-point attempt by Niels Giffey.
But Shabazz Napier missed three shots, including two 3-point attempts, in the final 40 seconds.
Daniels had 15 points to lead UConn (9-1).
