Police Investigate Reported Armed Robbery at Kwik Fill

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township police have initiated an investigation into a reported armed robbery that occurred at Kwik Fill on South Second Street in Lawrence Township.

Upon investigation police found the clerk had gone to the back of the store. When returning to the front, a masked male was behind the counter at the cash register.

The clerk subsequently struck the suspect with a mop, police said. At that point, the suspect struck the clerk with either a closed fist or a weapon, which knocked him to the floor.

The suspect, police said, told the clerk to stay on the floor and to not look at him. The suspect fled the store out the front door, police said, adding they followed his tracks in the snow to a vehicle he’d fled in.

Police described the suspect as standing approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a red- or orange-colored coat and a black ski mask.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Lawrence Township police.
