New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal may have suffered a concussion after taking a shoulder hit in the chin from New Jersey’s Reid Boucher at 6:41 into the third Saturday.

Staal, 26, threw his helmet down as he stalked off to the trainer’s room down the tunnel and did not return.

The Rangers lost 4-3 in overtime.

Coach Alain Vigneault said that Staal “didn’t feel quite right” after the hit.

He did not confirm whether or not Staal had sustained a concussion but said that he will be further evaluated Saturday night.

It is not clear whether Staal will be available when the Rangers host the Capitals at Madison Square Garden Sunday night.
