Indianapolis, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Next year’s Battle 4 Atlantis will have the strongest field of all of next year’s non-conference November tournaments.
It was announced that the 2014 edition of the tournament will include Florida, North Carolina, UCLA, Georgetown, Wisconsin, Butler, Oklahoma and UAB.
A day after beating then-No. 2 Kansas, the Jay Wright-coached Villanova defeated Iowa in overtime Saturday to win this season’s event in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
At least five of the eight teams in the field could land in next year’s rankings.
The participants were set prior to the formation of the new Big East, meaning Georgetown and Butler will likely be put in opposite brackets.
Creighton and Marquette, two other Big East teams, were put on opposite sides in last week’s Wooden Legacy tournament.
