Atlanta, GA, United States (4E Sports) – Al Horford led six of his Atlanta Hawks teammates in double figure scoring with 22 points as they breezed past the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-89 Friday at Philips Arena.
Paul Millsap had 16, Jeff Teague and Louis Williams contributed 13 each, Cartier Martin scored 12 while Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll added 10 each.
Korver broke a tie with Dana Barros (1994-96) at 5:29 remaining in the first quarter with his 90th straight game with a 3 point conversion.
He made 47 percent of his 3-point shots (235 of 502) during the streak.
The Hawks (11-10) raced to a 37-20 lead in the first quarter while Kyle Korver made two of the team’s five 3s in the period.
They built a 63-43 halftime lead which swelled to 77-48 in the third quarter.
The Cavs (6-13) went on a 12-0 run to close in at 77-60.
Dion Waiters and Matthew Dellavedova made back-to-back 3-pointers to pull the Cavs to 84-72 early in the fourth but that was the closest they would get.
Waiters led the Cavs with 30 points while and Andrew Bynum had 20 points and 13 rebounds.
However, Cavs starters Kyrie Irving and Alonzo Gee went scoreless. Irving, who entered the game averaging 20.8 points per game, shot 0 for 9.
