Montreal, QC, Canada (4E Sports) – Boston Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk was injured after a hit by Montreal Canadiens’ Max Pacioretty during Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens’ at Bell Centre.
Boychuk was taken off on a stretcher and left the arena in an ambulance to be taken to the nearby Montreal General Hospital for observation.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli noted that before Boychuc was transported to the hospital, he was able to demonstrate movement in all of his extremities.
Boychuk jumped into the rush and was hit behind the Montreal net by Pacioretty, causing him to hit the end boards at 4:28 of the opening period.
After the hit, Boychuk got to his knees and remained in that position as trainers from both teams, EMTs and Montreal’s team doctor tended to him.
