Verner E. Clark, 86, of Pottersdale died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. He was born June 22, 1927 in Pittstown, the son of the late Norman and Elizabeth Solomon Clark.
Mr. Clark was a very hard worker and took pride in his job and family. He was a loving husband and father; he loved his cat, Putter. Mr. Clark was a self-employed lumberman and logger, as well as a proud contributor to the Make A Wish Foundation.
He married June L. Maney Clark on Aug. 31, 1949 in Karthaus. She survives him at home in Pottersdale.
He’s survived by three daughters, Kathleen S. Anderson and Sharon K. Trude and her companion, Robert Albert, both of Frenchville and Kristine A. Dixon and her husband, Barry of Keewaydin.
Mr. Clark’s survived by six sons, Verner E. Clark Jr. and his wife, DiAnn and Stephen L. Clark and his wife, Judy, both of Frenchville; William C. Clark and his wife, Linda and John C. Clark and his wife, Sherry, both of Morrisdale; and Randy L. Clark and his companion, Nancy Keiter and James N. Clark and his wife, Darlene, both of Pottersdale.
He’s survived by two sisters, Katherine Davis and Eleanor Davis and her husband, Ronald, both of Smithfield; a brother, Harold D. Clark and his wife, Alice of Garrett; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph W. Clark; a son-in-law, Ralph Anderson; and seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
