Englewood, CO, United States (4E Sports) – The Denver Broncos played safe and rested quarterback Peyton Manning ‘s slightly injured ankle out of practice Wednesday.
Manning suffered the injury Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts in a 39-33 loss.
He was sacked four times by the Colts after being sacked just five times in the previous six games combined.
Manning was officially listed on the team’s injury report as “did not participate” although he throw in the walk-through earlier Wednesday before the team practiced.
However, Manning would practice Thursday and plans to play Sunday against the Washington Redskins.
“It was [head trainer Steve Antonopulos'] call. I didn’t go down without a fight, I assure you,” Manning said.
Broncos coach John Fox said that Manning’s knee just needs a little rest and that the injury is nothing more serious than just soreness.
