Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Actor Ryan Reynolds’ wax figure has been unveiled on Wednesday, during his 37th birthday, at Madame Tussauds museum in Hollywood.
His “immortalization” was a result of a three-month long poll the museum conducted on who the museum’s fans want to see in wax. Reynolds beat out other stars including Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Hudson and Sofia Vergara.
In his speech after seeing his wax figure, Reynolds said, “Thank you to everyone at Madame Tussauds Hollywood for their hard work and talent. This is undoubtedly the largest and most spectacular birthday candle I’ve ever received.”
To build the wax figure, the museum used up approximately 330 pounds of clay handled by a team of 20 artists who took more than 200 different measurements of People’s former Sexiest Man Alive and worked on it for several months.
Reynolds figure, which joins the Hollywood wax figures of Michael Jackson, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston and Lady Gaga, will be on display starting October 29.
