Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Over a week after Charlie Hunnam let go of Christian Grey’s role in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, Jamie Dornan is now being considered to play the lead role.
Jamie Dornan, 31, was a model for Christian Dior, Calvin Klein and Armani. Since switching to acting, he has appeared in the BBC’s “The Fall” and Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette.” He is currently seen in ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” as Sheriff Graham Humbert.
Filmmakers are yet to release official statements, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, negotiations with the Northern Irish actor’s handlers are underway. If these prove successful, Dornan will play alongside Dakota Johnson, who will play Anastasia Steele.
Produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, Sam Taylor-Johnson’s “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which is based on the book written by EL James, is set to hit theaters in August 1, 2014.
