Gregory Watson Dillon, 41, of Chester Hill passed into the arms of his savior and Lord Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh after a lifetime struggle with cystic fibrosis.
He was the son of Clyde and Sherry (Lippart) Dillon, who survive of Chester Hill. He was born Oct. 4, 1972 in Clearfield. He married the former Shawna Renee Liegey on Dec. 20, 2002 in Philipsburg and who survives him at home.
He was a member of the Parsonville Assembly of God Church in Houtzdale. He was employed as a medical transcriptionist with Probity Medical Transcriptions of Harrisburg until his disability prevented him from working in 2009. He was a 1989 graduate of the Moshannon Valley Christian Academy and was a graduate of the South Hills Business School in State College.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Albert W. Lippart; paternal grandparents, Clifford C. and Margaret E. (Jackson) Dillon; and two brothers, Chris and Mark Jon Dillon.
In addition to his parents and wife, he’s also survived by his maternal grandmother, Blanche Lippart of Curwensville; his mother- and father-in-law, Arnold and Betty Liegey of Weedville; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Philipsburg, with the Rev. W. Dean Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Stoneville Cemetery in West Decatur.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St. in Philipsburg and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.
