Houston, TX, United States (4E Sports) – Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez tipped the scale at 241 while top contender Junior dos Santos weighed in at 241 for their UFC 166 title fight Saturday at the Toyota Center.
The showdown will be the third between Velasquez and dos Santos.
Dos Santos knocked out Velasquez in 64 seconds in November 2011 , but Velasquez regained the belt lopsided unanimous decision in December 2012.
“He’s a tough dude,” Velasquez said. “Whether it ends early or goes five hard rounds, I will be ready for whatever.”
“I’m here to give you guys one more knockout,” said dos Santos after the weigh-in.
In the co-main event, Daniel Cormier, ranked third among heavyweights by ESPN.com, weighed 224 pounds against 249 pound opponent Roy Nelson.
This fight is likely Cormier’s last at heavyweight as he intends to compete at light heavyweight in his next cage appearance.
