New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Brooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Garnett told LeBron James not to concern himself with their personal issues at Boston Celtics and just mind his business with Miami Heat.
“Tell LeBron to worry about Miami. It has nothing to do with Celtic business,” said Garnett.
LeBron James has been vocal of how former Celtics juggernauts Garnett and Paul Pierce treated Ray Allen after the latter left the Celtics to join the Miami Heat.
Garnett and Pierce were both critical of Allen after he elected to sign with the Heat last offseason.
He pointed out that the Garnett and Pierce also eventually left the Celtics, and that Allen now deserves an apology.
“I think the first thing I thought was, ‘Wow, Ray got killed for leaving Boston, and now these guys are leaving Boston,’” James said.
“That’s the nature of our business, man,” James pointed out. “Doc [Rivers, former Celtics coach], KG and Paul did that as well. You can’t criticize someone who does something that’s best for their family.”
James, like Allen, left the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign with the Heat in 2010.
However, unlike Allen and James who both deserted their former teams, Garnett and Pierce were traded to the Nets along with reserve Jason Terry during the summer.
“I left Boston?” Pierce reacted to James’ comments, noting he had been traded and didn’t leave as a free agent.
