Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Damian Lillard 16 points while Nicolas Batum added 14 to push the Portland Trail Blazers past the Los Angeles Clippers 94-84 in preseason game Friday night at the Staples Center.
Robin Lopez enjoyed his best game in a Blazer uniform, adding nine points and 10 rebounds while keeping DeAndre Jordan from another explosive performance.
The Clippers forced 29 Blazers turnovers, 19 in the first half, but couldn’t take advantage of free throws.
They also couldn’t find their groove, as the Blazers took advantage of their holes on defense and rebounding.
The Blazers pulled away in the fourth quarter, leading 80-63 with 9:00 remaining.
Darren Collison had 31 points and six assists while Blake Griffin scored 18 points and snatched six rebounds for the Clippers.
But they shot just 35.4 percent for the game and did not have a player in double figures other than Collison and Griffin.
