Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) – Goaltender James Reimer and forward James van Riemsdyk could be in the lineup when the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday.
Reimer practiced Friday after leaving the Maple Leafs’ game Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes after just 32 seconds following a collision with teammate Josh Leivo.
Reimer was hurt after he was hit in the head by a backchecking Leivo while trying to recover a rebound.
Reimer went down before skating with assistance to the locker room. After the game, coach Randy Carlyle said Reimer had a headache.
“I had a bit of a headache so the doctor felt it was in my best interest that I stay out for the rest of the game,” Reimer said. “I came in this morning and felt pretty good. I rode the bike and worked out before I hit the ice and when I got on the ice I felt pretty good.”
Van Riemsdyk also practiced Friday after missing the past two games due to back spasms.
