Seattle, WA, United States (4E Sports) – Kekuta Manneh scored three goals to lead the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 4-1 takedown of the Seattle Sounders Wednesday at CenturyLink Field to preserve its playoff hopes.
The 18-year-old striker sped ahead of Hurtado and slid a right-footed shot past Michael Gspurning to open scoring for the Whietcaps.
Later in the half, Manneh ran past Djimi Traore before receiving a Camilo Sanvezzo back-heeled pass, whch he converted to a low shot goal.
In the 53rd-minute goal Manneh made it 3-0 after working a 1-2 with Kobayashi.
The Sounders finally got on the scoring board in the 69th minute courtesy of Mauro Rosales, who jumped on a rebound and pounded it into the back of the net.
Whitecaps’ Nigel Reo-Coker ultimately put the match away with a breakaway goal in the 82nd minute.
