Dublin, OH, United States (4E Sports) – With the season winding down, world No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods is planning to rest his ailing back that has bothered him this year.
“It’s a little tight but I’m sure we can find some swing lube later for this,” Woods said.
Despite lingering back pain, Woods helped the United States secure another Presidents Cup win, scoring the clinching match over the International team at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, this past weekend.
“Went out on me at 14 and from then on, it just kept getting worse,” Woods said of his back. “But you know, hey, I got a point for our team so that’s all that matters.”
Woods has now sealed the Cup the last three times for the Americans, who have won eight of the last 10 competitions.
The season is not yet over for Woods as he is scheduled to host his annual charity tournament at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks in early December.
Rory McIlroy, Jason Dufner and Graeme McDowell are expected to join the 18-player field.
