Evanston, IL, United States (4E Sports) – Running back Carlos Hyde ran for a career-high 168 yards and three touchdowns to fuel No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes over No. 16 Northwestern 40-30 Saturday to extend its winning streak to 18 games.
Northwestern was leading 23-20 early in the fourth when Doran Grant intercepted a Trevor Siemian pass.
He returned it to the Northwestern 16, and on third-and-goal at the 2, Hyde roared into the end zone to put the Buckeyes ahead 26-23.
Siemian then found Cameron Dickerson in the end zone on third down to put the Wildcats were back on top, 30-27.
But Hyde answered back with a 7-yard touchdown over two minutes later to put the Buckeyes ahead for good.
The Buckeyes (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) remained undefeated since Urban Meyer took over as coach last year.
Corey Brown added 127 yards receiving and the defense delivered five sacks for the Buckeyes.
Siemian threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns while Rashad Lawrence had 149 yards receiving for Northwestern.
