Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) – Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant observed improvement in Derrick Rose’s game after offseason workouts with the comebacking former MVP.
Rose is expected to return for the Chicago Bulls’ preseason opener on Oct. 5 at Indiana after missing the entire 2013-13 season due to knee surgery.
“It was really good for him that he took the whole year off,” said Durant. “A lot of people criticized him for it and really were upset about him not playing, but it was the best thing for him. I can tell because he looks better.”
Durant credited Bulls Coach Tom Thibodeau for keeeping the Bulls a contender even without Rose by utilizing one of the best defense he’s ever seen.
The Bulls won 45 games during the regular season and beat the Brooklyn Nets in seven games in the first round of the playoffs before losing to the eventual champion Miami Heat in five.
Durant said the exlosive Rose will provide that extra push from the offense to make the Bulls even better this year and he’s willing to pay to see that.
“He’s one of the few players I would go pay to see play. He’s going to make them even better this year,” said Durant.
