Moscow, Russian Federation (4E) – Russia on Thursday ordered two of its warships to move to Sochi to prepare for a security mission for the 22nd Winter Olympics in the Black Sea city.
The warships were earlier destined to reach Eastern Mediterranean on September 25, however, the order was canceled on Thursday.
“Black Sea Fleet’s small missile ship Ivanovets and missile boat Shtil were ordered earlier to depart to the Eastern Mediterranean on Sept. 25. This morning, the mission was cancelled,” Interfax news agency quoted a Navy source as saying.
Sochi will host the Olympic February next year.
