Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Scott Van Slyke hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Los Angels Dodgers a 5-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.
Los Angeles led 2-0 in the second on fielder’s choice groundouts by Edinson Volquez and Yasiel Puig.
Miguel Montero singled in Paul Goldschmidt to cut the Dodgers’ lead to 2-1.
The Diamondbacks went ahead in the fifth inning, 3-2, on a towering two-run home run by Didi Gregorius with Gerardo Parra also scoring after drawing a leadoff walk.
Hanley Ramirez and Adrian Gonzalez drew successive walks, after which Andre Ethier doubled to the right-field corner to drive in Ramirez and tie it at 3-3.
Andre Ethier’s RBI double scored Hanley Ramirez, who walked with two outs and later Van Slyke lined the homer off Josh Collmenter (4-3), scoring Mark Ellis, who singled.
Volquez gave up three runs and four hits in six innings. He struck out five and walked one. Chris Withrow struck four in 1 1/3 innings.
Trevor Cahill allowed three runs and four hits in six innings, struck out two and walked four.
Josh Collmenter gave up two runs and three hits.
