Manila, Philippines (4E Sports) – San Antonio Spurs power forward Matt Bonner conducted basketball clinics for kids in Manila as part of the NBA Cares and Fit programs in the lead-up to the NBA Global Games in October.

Nicknamed Red Rocket and Red Mamba, the eight-year NBA veteran conducted a clinic with the kids from Virlanie Foundation and Children’s Garden at the Ronac Art Center in San Juan, Friday afternoon.

“The first thing you have to learn if you want to become a good basketball player is to listen and follow your coaches,” Bonner told the kids.

The 10-year NBA veteran was assisted by Jr. NBA head coach Sefu Bernard and Alaska Basketball Power Camp director and PBA legend Jojo Lastimosa.

The kids went through some drills named after ‘Earth, sea, land and mountain’ as Bonner gamely ran and train with them.

The following day, he was at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City for another clinic with 20 children.

Selected 45th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2003 NBA draft, the 6’10″ Bonner has carved out a name for himself as a solid role player and a respected three-point threat.
