Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – ‘N Sync’s Sunday reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards might have given their fans hope for an official reunion, but the boys themselves confirmed that they did it for Justin Timberlake and that they are not touring anytime in the future.
Talking on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show on Monday, member JC Chasez explained the momentous event saying, “It was a matter of time. Everybody would ask us, ‘When are you guys going to do something?”
He went on to say that days before the show, Timberlake, who won this year’s Vanguard Award, called the members up and got them all to perform during his set, since “we started our careers at MTV.”
And so they did reunite and performed. Chasez added, “Just for a minute, though. It really was about [Timberlake], and all that he’s accomplished…He wanted to acknowledge that part of his career, and so we all decided to do it.”
Meanwhile, fellow Chris Kirkpatrick revealed via Johnny’s House XL 106.7 FM that he got a phone call from Timberlake two-and-a-half weeks before the show.
Asked whether they are planning a reunion and a tour, Kirkpatrick, who now has a family, replied, “No, this was for Justin because of the Video Vanguard award.”
