Madrid, Spain (4E Sports) – Gareth Bale is set to become Real Madrid’s biggest earner alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka with €10 million a year after tax.
Spanish newspaper Marca announced Friday that a €99 million deal to bring Bale from Tottenham has finally been completed.
It added that it was just a “question of hours” before Bale signs a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
That deal gives him more money than World Cup winners Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Xabi Alonso, and established internationals such as Germany’s Mesut Ozil and France’s Karim Benzema.
A stage was erected alongside the directors box on the eastern side of the 85,000 stadium where President Florentino Perez is now expected to hand Bale his new number 11 shirt early next week.
Bale’s 11 shirt is already being sold in the club shop.
Nonetheless, there still seems to be some confusion over the real cost of the deal.
Sources close to Perez were maintaining last night that the final amount will not pass €90.76 million.
