Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Singer Brandy walked off the stage after performing only two songs at the South African celebration of Mandela Sports and Culture Day on Saturday due to low audience count.
South African musician Kabomo took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the show’s unfortunate turn. He wrote, “I have no words for what I just witnessed.” He added, “@SizweDhlomo Brandy performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on. She sulked after two songs and walked off.”
Kabomo followed it up with, “@SizweDhlomo it was late. People didn’t know there was a concert after the games. No one knew Brandy was around. Maybe a 40 people audience.”
After stressing that more people are in the stadium on a random day than during Brandy’s performance, the musician re-tweeted, “Can you imagine how depressing it must be to be a person like Brandy & now you perform to empty stadiums.”
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old “I Wanna Be Down” singer, despite Saturday’s events, is set to return to South Africa to perform in September.
