Miami, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito was allegedly involved in another altercation the same week he was involved in an incident with Houston Texans defensive end Antonio Smith.
According to the police report, Incognito was in a skirmish with a hotel security guard June 10 at Club Liv nightclub in the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami.
Incognito and a group of friends were trying to get a closer look at an on-stage performer, at which point the security guard asked the group to back up.
A member of Incognito’s group then allegedly pushed the security guard, which started a fight. Incognito reportedly told police he tried to break up the incident.
League sources said Incognito punched and knocked out the security guard, though the police report makes no mention of this.
One person who knows Incognito says the Dolphins guard was punched first.
Incognito refused medical treatment for minor facial injuries, according to the report.
There is videotape of the incident, but the hotel is unwilling to turn it over and the NFL has not yet seen it .
The Dolphins were reportedly aware of the incident and tried to bury it according to some sources.
Incognito’s altercation could be a violation of the NFL’s personal-conduct policy.
Meanwhile, the NFL announced that Smith was suspended one regular-season game for swinging his helmet at Incognito in the Texans’ 24-17 win Saturday at Reliant Stadium.
Smith apparently dislikes Incognito for the way he plays.
Incognito, he said, pinched players on the bottom of piles and delivered late hits when players weren’t looking.
Coaches who looked at video replay the incident said Incognito did nothing wrong.
