Williamsport, PA, United States (4E Sports) – Panama, represented by a team from Aguadulce, scored six runs each in the second and third inning en route to a 12-0 win over Ottawa, Ontario in Monday’s Little League World Series game at Volunteer Stadium.
The win allowed Panama to advance to the next round against Chinese-Taipei, which earlier defeated Puerto Rico, 6-4.
Edgardo Rosales sparked Panama’s assault with a solo shot in the second followed by a two-run triple by Rafael Eysseric, an RBI single by Jean Mar Sanchez, and a two-run single by Juan Crisp.
Panama added six more runs in the third when a bases loaded walk scored Jordan Agrazal. Jean Cornejo followed it with a two-run double before Sanchez hit a three-run shot for a 12-0 lead.
Sanchez racked up four RBIs on two hits while Cornejo and Crisp drove in two runs apiece.
Rosales also held Ottawa, Ontario hitless in 2 2/3 frames, walking two and striking out four to earn the win. Jordan Agrazal yielded a hit with four strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings of relief for Panama.
Angus Adams lasted only two innings on the mound for Ottawa, Ontario, yielding six runs on six hits to absorb the loss. Jack Walsh accounted for Ontario’s only hit in the game.
