Minneapolis, MN, United States (4E Sports) – Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant will have a basketball player as wife after Minnesota Lynx’s guard Monica Wright accepted his marriage proposal.
Wright confirmed the engagement after the Lynx defeated the Phoenix Mercury Sunday.
According to media reports, Durant proposed to Wright on Saturday, and she accepted.
Earlier, Durant was seen at several Lynx games but he claimed that he was merely there to support Wright as a friend.
Wright and Durant have known each other since the 2006 McDonald’s High School All American Game.
However, their friendship turned into a deeper relationship that the managed to hide from the media.
The 5-11 Wright was the second overall pick in the 2010 WNBA draft. She is averaging 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Lynx this season.
