Minneapolis, MN, United States (4E Sports) – The reigning MVP of the Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson has his sights set on 2,500 yards and smashing the NFL’s single-season rushing record of 2,106.

Peterson made the proclamations in an interview with the NFL Network in January and recently with Sports Illustrated.

He came within 9 yards of breaking Eric Dickerson’s mark last season, finishing with 2,097 yards, the second-highest mark of all time. The amazing season came with Peterson less than a year removed from reconstructive knee surgery.

To reach 2,500 yards, Peterson would have to average 156.25 yards over 16 games, which he topped five times last season when he averaged 131 yards.

Peterson also wants to win multiple Super Bowls with the Minnesota Vikings.

Minnesota made the playoffs last season with a 10-6 record, losing to the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round.
